As an antiques collector I have had the opportunity to study the form and surface of thousands of folk art pieces. As an artist I have come to appreciate the sincerity, creativity and raw talent expressed by the men and women who made these extraordinary works. These early American folk artists left us with the most wonderful and enduring legacy of weathervanes, cigar store Indians, figureheads, trade signs, eagles and other sublime carvings.

Out of a passion for antiques, sculpture and a respect for the woodcarvers and artisans who made them, I began recreating 18th and 19th century folk art forms. My aim is to create the finest original and reproduction folk art sculptures in the traditional style, and with the spirit, of the best folk art masterpieces. Perhaps, a hundred years from now, the work of folk art sculptor, Mark A. Perry, will inspire others to continue this exciting American heritage.
